Description

Deity of war, fortune, heroism and competition -- Brucni.

First of the Pantheon not to be an Anthro -- but he is wearing a bearskin. Next up is the sea goddess! ^^

Brucni is one of the key deities of the High Gods, another who does not see the words of Nthala as law. Though lawful, he takes his own path, and his warrior-priests take his example. There are few temples to Brucni, but where they are, they’re always vast buildings to be seen in large cities. There are many training grounds for priests and traveling individuals to test and hone their skills, whether they be rogues, wizards, fighters or even clerics of opposing deities. Brucni’s doctrine can be summed up in, “there’s always a bigger fish.” Always look to better yourself; always find out where you are lacking, and improve, and remember that no mater how high you get, how deep you dig, how far you gather your strengths, you will never be the best. Always look to the top of the mountain; understand you can never reach it. This embodies the stern doctrine of Brucni that encourages perseverance without a reachable goal.
Brucni does not usually appear to mortals on the material plane, but in most occasions, when he felt it necessary to either bring down the ego of a powerful warrior or outsmart a dexterous rogue, he appears as a broad man with a knowing smile and wearing the pelt of a bear over his shoulders, swinging a long chain attached to a kama at one end. In his other hand he bears a wooden shield without an emblem. The right side of his face bears a long trailing scar; a parting gift from the evil god Cobaol, who he exiled from his forces long ago in an ancient war.
